Madras, India. I took a walk down to the river, and saw a mother and her children washing their clothig.
Aurangabad, India. Our first stop on the way to Aurangabad was at the Mini Taj Mahal. The actual Taj Mahal is in Agra which was way to far to be visited on this trip. They look nearly identical, though.
Chennai, India. This boy insisted that I photograph him jumping into the river. His expression and the timing just happened to work out, perfectly.
Chennai, India. This child was sitting in his stairwell eating dinner. He used a palm leaf as a plate which is common in this area. For these meals, utensils are not utilized — only hands. I actually find eating with my hands much more enjoyable than using utensils. There is a tactile sensation that is lost with a fork and knife and this sensation adds a completely new dimension to the eating experience.
Sri Meenakshi, Maduri, India. These two women bowed and spoke to the statue in front of them. The temple was mostly full of women because I went during the workday.
Devlali, India. At this stop, a mother and daughter race to board the train headed to Bombay. Unfortunately, as usual, the train has begun to move while passengers are still boarding.
On the way to visit the Ajanta and Elora caves near Aurangabad, India, we passed a field of sunflowers. Tens of thousands of them for as far as we could see.
