Valparaíso, Chile.  This chilean boy from Santiago came to visit Valparaíso for the weekend.  It was his first time riding one of the diagonal elevators.  With immense curiosity, he couldn’t keep his eyes from staring out the window the entire ride.

Easter Island, Chile.  The rock from which these statues are carved is fairly soft and frail … the moai are literally falling apart piece by piece.  They’re also incredibly weathered as, they are, hundreds of years old.

Valparaíso, Chile. Recently named a UNESCO world heritage site in 2003, Valparaíso is often considered the cultural center of Santiago, full of hills and colorful houses.

Luang Prabang, Laos.  A child from the suburbs ran to the door when she saw my camera.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Taken in front of El Planetario de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires while waiting for the next show.

Coney Island, New York.  Built in 1918, the Wonder Wheel is one of the oldest rides in Coney Island.

Tokyo, Japan.  Fresh Ikura has very little salt, and an incredibly thin skin.

Paris, France. Housed in a former railway station, the Orsay Museum holds some of France’s most acclaimed national art.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Recoleta Cemetery contains the graves of some of the most famous and influential people in Argentina, including Eva Perón.
